Wondered myself so looked up the order. From the comments window on that order: Hi. The "actual" measurement on my belt to the hole I use is closer to 37.25" So let's go with that. I'd like to have the holes in this new belt at a closer spacing than one inch to allow for more accurate adjusting based on daily gut size! If you can space the holes as close as .5" that would be good---if not, then whatever you think is best for "close" spacing on the holes. You can also increase the number of holes for this closer spacing if you think that will work better--7 or 9 holes (sets of holes on this double-tang buckle). On color--somewhere on the darker side of "medium" brown? Could be my monitor, but "dark brown" looks really dark (almost black.)
